South Bend, Ind. (March 21, 2019) – 1st Source Bank has selected Dunebrook as a grant recipient, awarding the organization $17,820 to fund equipment and facility enhancements for their forensic interviewing process.
Dunebrook is located in Michigan City, Ind. and provides child advocacy services, as well as positive family support and education. Dunebrook is a resource to community law enforcement and child protective agencies, often being utilized to interview children who have been abused.
“Dunebrook does incredibly important work in our communities,” says Matt Vessely, 1st Source Bank’s West Region President. “Their experts help children feel safe to share the stories that will bring positive change to their lives, and 1st Source is honored to have the opportunity to help them in this mission.”
The grant funding has been awarded to Dunebrook to enhance the organization’s forensic interview recording equipment, as well as to construct a new wall in their Child Advocacy Center (CAC) to ensure more privacy during the interview process.
“Dunebrook is very grateful to 1st Source Bank for their support in purchasing the new equipment and wall construction for our Child Advocacy Center,” says Jeanne Anne Cannon, Executive Director of Dunebrook. “With the growth of our Child Advocacy Center and increased numbers of forensic interviews, the CAC is a critical component of a timely and swift response to child abuse allegations and suspicions. 1st Source’s generosity has significantly strengthened Dunebrook’s infrastructure and our work in child abuse prevention and intervention.”
