Donation to Seven Northwest Indiana Organizations in Response to Severe August Storms
South Bend, Ind. (September 3, 2026) – 1st Source Bank Foundation announced that it will donate $100,000 to support disaster recovery efforts in response to the recent severe storms in LaPorte and Porter Counties in Indiana. The donation will be split between seven community organizations in northwest Indiana including The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana, Porter County Community Foundation, The Salvation Army of Porter County, The Salvation Army of LaPorte County, United Way of LaPorte County, United Way of Northwest Indiana, and Unity Foundation of LaPorte County.
These grants will help provide immediate assistance and long-term recovery support to residents, families and communities affected by the storms, which caused significant damage throughout the region.

Representatives from the recipient organizations expressed gratitude for 1st Source Bank Foundation’s support and noted that the donations will help provide critical assistance to affected residents while reinforcing a collaborative recovery effort focused on rebuilding stronger, more resilient communities.
