South Bend, Ind. (May 31, 2023) –1st Source Bank is pleased to announce a series of promotions and changing job responsibilities as part of a leadership transition in the Fort Wayne Region with an eye on future success.
Effective Monday, June 5, 2023, Lawrence Mayers, who currently serves in a dual role as Fort Wayne Region President and Business Banking Group Head, will transition out of his role as Fort Wayne Region President to focus on his duties as Business Banking Group Head. In this role, Mr. Mayers will execute the 1st Source business banking strategy bank wide.
At this time, Luke Squires will be promoted to Fort Wayne Region President. Mr. Squires has more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry. He joined 1st Source Bank in 2007 as a Business Banking officer and held several positions including Small Business Team Lead and Manager of Commercial Banking. Mr. Squires is an Ernestine M. Raclin Community Leadership award winner, recognizing his dedication to community leadership and the causes he is most passionate about. He graduated from Indiana University – Fort Wayne with a bachelor’s in Finance. He participated in Leadership Fort Wayne in 2010 and was named one of Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly’s 40 under 40 in 2013. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Erin’s House for Grieving Children as chair of Governance.
In addition, Cecile Weir will be promoted to Fort Wayne Commercial Banking Manager. Mrs. Weir has more than 25 years of banking experience, serving in various banking capacities including retail, mortgage lending and credit underwriting before moving into commercial lending in 2001. She has a BS degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Indiana University Fort Wayne and a MBA in Marketing in Management from Indiana Tech University. Mrs. Weir is active in the community, serving on several boards and committees including YWCA Northeast Indiana, Brightpoint, Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival, Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum, Financial Executives International, Builders and Contractors Association, Community Development Corp of Northeast Indiana and WOWnet, a Women’s Networking group.
Local leaders Deb Moser and Jan Wilhelm will remain in their current roles as Fort Wayne Regional Sales Manager and Fort Wayne Private Banking Manager respectively. Ms. Moser joined 1st Source Bank 2010 and has been in the banking industry for 35 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University. Ms. Wilhelm joined the bank in 2004, after many years of banking and leadership roles within the community. She earned her B.S. degree in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University and holds a diploma from the Graduate School of Banking from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
These moves align with 1st Source Bank’s community banking model, continue the Bank’s tradition of promoting from within, and enhances the Bank’s position as a Community Bank with a strong client focus with local leadership who strongly live the 1st Source values and who have the authority and responsibility to serve clients well and grow the bank.
