Honoring retiring leaders while elevating Shelli Workman, Daniel Conroy, Sean Kearns, Jim Martindale, and Todd Obren to support the Bank’s continued growth.
South Bend, Ind. (January 20, 2026) – 1st Source Bank proudly announces several transitions, highlighting the well-earned future retirement of leaders, Larry Mayers, Ron Zeltwanger, and Bill Burton, and the subsequent promotion of internal top-performers, Shelli Workman, Daniel (Danny) Conroy, Sean Kearns, Jim Martindale, and Todd Obren. These successors were identified as part of the Bank’s ongoing succession planning process. These promotions will take effect on February 1, 2026, and the retirements have been staggered throughout the first half of 2026 to support smooth transitions and knowledge sharing.
Larry Mayers, Group Head of Business Banking will retire on April 10, 2026, after 19 years of service to 1st Source Bank. Ron Zeltwanger, Group Head of Community Banking, will retire on May 31, 2026, after 25 years of service to 1st Source Bank. Bill Burton will retire from his role as East Region President on June 30, 2026, after 34 years of dedicated service to 1st Source Bank.

Business Banking
On February 1, Shelli Workman assumes the role of Group Head of Business Banking. Ms. Workman joined the Bank in 2012 and has over 30 years of banking experience. She brought extensive experience with commercial real estate and helped start the Solar Financing division at 1st Source in 2015. Ms. Workman took over as manager of Business Banking for the Central Region in December 2016, and in 2020 became Regional President over both the Central and Michigan Regions. In her new role, she will gain management responsibilities for all business bankers, as well as oversee Treasury Services, SBA/Small Business, Solar Financing, Retirement Plan Services, and Business Banking Services. Ms. Workman holds a B.S. in Business from Indiana University South Bend and an MBA from University of Notre Dame. She is an active community member and currently serves on the boards of the South Bend Regional Chamber, Economic Club, Junior Achievement, and Indiana University South Bend Chancellor’s Advisory Board.

Personal Banking
Daniel Conroy will be promoted to Group Head of Personal Banking. Holding various roles in his 19 years at the bank, Mr. Conroy has gained experience and knowledge that has prepared him well for this new position. He joined 1st Source as a corporate trainee, progressing quickly through banking center manager and regional sales manager roles. In 2012, he was promoted to Continuous Improvement Leader and in 2019 to Consumer and Mortgage Lending Manager. During his time at the Bank, he has managed nine banking centers across four counties, led mortgage and consumer lending sales teams. He also implemented strategic initiatives to drive revenue growth, optimize client experience, and mitigate risk, as well as designed and implemented the Bank’s Lean Daily Management training. Mr. Conroy holds a B.S. in Business from Indiana University and is currently enrolled in the Executive MBA program at University of Notre Dame. Additionally, he has earned a Lean Certification, received St. Joseph County’s 40 under 40 award in 2014 and graduated from Leadership South Bend/Mishawaka in 2011. In the community, he serves on the boards of the Community Homebuyer Corporation and Christ the King School Athletic Committee, and coaches softball and little league teams.
“Danny’s background here at 1st Source positions him well to lead the strategy, products, goals, and service execution of Personal Banking,” said Kevin Murphy. “He is a perfect fit for the Group Head of Personal Banking role and is well liked and highly respected among his colleagues at the Bank.”

Regional Leadership
Sean Kearns will be promoted to East Region President, also effective February 1, 2026. He joined 1st Source in 2003 as a business banker. In June 2019, he was promoted to East Region Business Banking Manager. During that time, he was instrumental in assisting leadership with the three-year planning process for the entire business banking team. He also worked to revamp and implement the Bank’s 1st Source Way sales training, defining our sales culture and process. Mr. Kearns holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from University of Notre Dame, an MBA from Butler University, and graduated from University of Wisconsin Madison Graduate School of Banking. In the community, he serves as a board member and finance committee member for Bashor Children’s Home.

Jim Martindale joined 1st Source in 2020 as a commercial relationship manager and quickly moved into the role of Commercial and Business Banking Manager. He will again be promoted in February to Central Region President. Mr. Martindale has over 20 years of banking experience and has been heavily involved in the Bank’s manufacturing and small business areas during his time at 1st Source. He holds a degree in management from Bethel College. In the community, he serves on the board of the Studebaker Museum.

Todd Obren will become the first Regional President of the Bank’s Michigan Region, which was previously overseen by the Central Region’s President. Having a dedicated Michigan Regional President enables greater focus and local representation in this important growth market. Mr. Obren joined the Bank in 2021 and has more than 20 years of banking experience in Southwest Michigan. In his role as the Commercial Banking Manager, he led the Southwest Michigan business banking team, providing strategic growth strategies and growing businesses. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and management from Albion College and was twice recognized in Southwest Michigan’s “40 under 40” awards. Mr. Obren was also a Junior Achievement “Best and Brightest” finalist in finance and currently serves on the board of the Cornerstone Alliance.
