Junior Achievement and 1st Source Bank announce $3,000 contribution and matching campaign
Knox, IN – 1st Source Bank has presented Junior
Achievement (JA) a generous $3,000 grant that will provide additional JA
Personal Finance courses for students in Starke County. The funds will also
provide opportunities for area students to participate in JA’s innovative
BizTown and FinancePark programming based in Fort Wayne.
Judy
Caudill, 1st Source Knox Banking Center Manager, presented the donation to Lisa
Scheller, JA Area Director and Bridget Markin, JA Board Member, during a
personal finance course she was teaching to students at Knox High School. She
was joined by Knox teacher Rose Lowry. Caudill also announced a matching
campaign 1st Source has initiated to assist JA in raising additional funds.
“At
1st Source Bank we know that people are more successful in life when they know
how to properly plan for their financial future,” said Caudill. “JA teaches
financial education to children better than anyone and also inspires kids to be
our future entrepreneurs. By supporting JA we are making an investment in our future
and we invite area businesses and community leaders to join us with this
effort.”
To
encourage participation, 1st Source Bank will donate $1 to JA for every $2
contributed up to $75,000 in both 2016 and 2017. The funds will be allocated to
Starke County and six other counties in our region. Those interested in
contributing should contact Junior Achievement.
