1st Source's Chmiel Earns National Certification
South Bend, IN – Mary Chmiel, Consumer Product Manager at 1st Source Bank, was recently awarded the Certified IRA Services Professional (CISP) designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers, a subsidiary of the American Bankers Association.
Chmiel, a 36 year veteran of 1st Source Bank, manages several product lines, including IRAs and Health Savings Accounts. Chmiel is a 1999 graduate of the University of Notre Dame’s Executive MBA program. She also serves on the Advisory Board of the Saint Mary’s College Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative and the Advisory Council of the Boy Scouts of America LaSalle Council.
The CISP designation is awarded to individuals who demonstrate excellence in the field of IRA services. To qualify for the certification, individuals must have certain levels of experience and education about IRAs, pass an exam and agree to abide by a code of ethics. The CISP exam covers many areas including employer plans, IRA documentation requirements, IRA eligibility and contribution requirements, IRA distribution requirements, and other IRA specific issues.
