South Bend, IN – 1st Source Bank has announced the winners of the thirteenth annual Ernestine M. Raclin Community Leadership Awards. Five employees and five community volunteers who embody the spirit, values, energy and leadership of Ernestine M. Raclin, past Chairman of 1st Source Bank and 1st Source Corporation, were selected as 2011 winners of the award.
Area winners include Kathleen Sparks, KADA Partnership and KADA Michigan, Mishawaka; Brad Toothaker, CB Richard Ellis | Bradley, South Bend; Mark Dougherty 1st Source Assistant Auditor, South Bend; Dr. Mark Klaassen, Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center, Elkhart; and Carri Harrington, 1st Source Banking Center Manager, Niles.
Sparks was recognized for being the driving force behind Ronald McDonald House Charities in the Michiana area. She has served as President and Vice President since its inception in 1991 and has been involved with several other non-profit organizations.
Toothaker is an active leader in the Michiana community, serving on countless boards including the Chamber of Commerce, Broadway Theatre League, South Bend Symphony and Downtown South Bend, just to name a few.
Dougherty has served for the past 16 years as a volunteer firefighter with the Coolspring Township Volunteer Fire Department. He has also raised funds for the Department, written grants, and prepared all financial reports, statements and returns.
Dr. Klaassen has established a fellowship program to train and share surgical techniques with physicians both locally and internationally.
Harrington has played an active role in helping local businesses expand in Niles as a board member of Niles Main Street Development District Authority, and a member of the organization’s Economic Restructuring Committee.
Other award winners include James Anton, Anton Insurance Agency, Chesterton; Phillip Maki, Southshore Companies, Saint Joseph; Courtney Cerajewski, 1st Source Banking Center Operations Manager, LaPorte; Sheri Bartoli, 1st Source Client Services Representative, Knox; and Cindy Rash, 1st Source Agricultural Banker, Plymouth.
Each winner received a $1,000 award, a $1,000 donation to the charity of their choice, and a Globe of Leadership.
