Spotlight on Ag Banker Catherine Langford

For Catherine Langford, farming runs in her blood. That’s why she fits right in as a
1st Source Ag Lender/Business Banker, assisting the bank’s agricultural clients with all of their banking needs.
Catherine started in farming at an early age, waking up early each day to take care of animals before school. Sheep, cattle, goats and chickens were among the animals on their family farm. Catherine also got involved with 4-H in LaPorte County on the livestock and dairy judging teams.
After graduating from Purdue with a B.S. in Agricultural Economics, Catherine joined 1st Source Bank, assisting clients in the banking center. She left the bank briefly to take a position as an Ag Lender at another financial institution, but returned in 2013 when an ag lending position opened up at 1st Source.
“I was glad to get back to 1st Source,” says Catherine. “I love working with famers and helping them achieve their operational goals. With the market so volatile, I’m able to look at their financials as a third party and help put things in perspective. Our ag clients really appreciate that.”
In her spare time, you’ll find Catherine where you’d expect – on the farm. She and her husband run 50 show cattle that are shown across the country. She’s also a 4-H Leader for LaPorte County Jr. Leaders.
