Are you aware of the new federal banking regulation impacting debit and ATM card usage?
Due to new rules that went into effect on August 15, 2010, banks can no longer cover debit card transaction overdrafts on your account unless you have chosen overdraft coverage. This means that if you don’t have enough funds in your account to cover a debit or ATM transaction, the transaction will be declined.
To continue overdraft coverage on debit card purchases, you must take action. Your consent will allow 1st Source Bank to consider authorizing and paying your overdrafted transaction.
There is no charge to sign up for overdraft coverage. However, if we pay a transaction that overdraws your account, our standard overdraft fee will be assessed. When an overdraft occurs, you are responsible for promptly bringing your account to a positive balance.
