1st Source Bank

Carol Styburski Set to Retire as Dowagiac Banking Center Manager

The New Year will usher in a new beginning for Carol Styburski, as she ends her 30-year career with 1st Source Bank and steps into retirement on January 1.
Carol, an Assistant Vice President at 1st Source, has served as Manager of the Dowagiac Banking Center since 2003. In recent years, she led the branch’s transformation into 1st Source’s first side-by-side banking center, which introduced a new and innovative approach to banking that eliminates the traditional “teller counter” and allows staff to work alongside their clients and enhance the banking experience. Side-by-side is the model for all new branches.
“I have enjoyed serving my friends and neighbors all these years,” Carol said. “It was always easy for me to keep up with everyone because I would see them in the bank at one time or another. Now I’ll be one of those friendly faces stopping in to do business, so I’ll still manage to stay in touch.”
Nancy Bourlier will replace Carol effective January 1, announced Ronald Zeltwanger, Vice President and Manager for 1st Source’s Central Region. Nancy is currently Supervisor of the Dowagiac Banking Center’s customer service team.
“We will certainly miss Carol,” said Ron. “She set the example for what it means to serve clients and the greater community. Nancy has had a good mentor, and I know she shares Carol’s passion for excellence.”
Carol will celebrate her retirement with co-workers and clients from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, December 27, at the Dowagiac Banking Center, 223 S. Front St. The public is invited to stop in for refreshments and to wish Carol well.
