1st Source to Host Shred Events
Fort Wayne, IN – 1st Source Bank announces that it will have ‘Shred Day’ events at two of its Fort Wayne area banking centers. On Friday, April 21, the public can shred sensitive documents from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at its East State Banking Center, located at 6506 East State Boulevard. A second shred event will take place May 5 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Covington Plaza Banking Center located at 6304 W. Jefferson Blvd.
The shredder service is free and available to the public.
“Shredding sensitive documents is an easy way to reduce your risk of becoming a victim of identity theft,” said Cynthia Hale, 1st Source Banking Center Manager. “1st Source is glad to help people shred and properly dispose of old statements and paperwork they no longer need.”
Documents you may want to consider shredding include those with Social Security numbers, birthdates, PIN numbers or passwords; banking documents and other financial information; leases, contracts or letters that include signatures; pre-approved credit card applications and medical or dental bills. Of course, be sure to keep documents you may need for tax purposes.
