1st Source Bank has teamed up with local business development organizations to present “Business Over Breakfast,” a free workshop to help veterans who either own or want to start their own business. The event will take place from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 20, at the Portage University Center located at 6260 Central Avenue.
Representatives from Partners in Contracting Corporation, a procurement technical assistance center, and the Northwest Indiana Small Business Development Center will join 1st Source small business experts to provide information about developing a business plan, opportunities for government contracting and financing options for business start-up or expansion.
1st Source, a leader in small business lending, is hosting the workshop as a participant in the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Veteran Pledge Initiative, a nationwide effort to increase lending to veteran-owned companies and veterans interested in starting a business. In 2013, 1st Source received the SBA’s Indiana Community Lender Award as well as the Great Lakes Diversity Lender of the Year award.
Seating for the workshop is limited. Reservations will be accepted through March 18 by calling Jesús Cervera at (219) 762-2165, or by email at CerveraJ@1stsource.com.
