1st Source Donates more than $840,000 to Community in 2010

1st Source Bank and its philanthropic arm, 1st Source Foundation, have donated more than $840,000 to community organizations in 2010. The donations have benefited educational, social, cultural and civic organizations in the communities served by the bank.  
Additionally, in 2010, 1st Source employees volunteered more than 25,000 hours to more than 375 non profit organizations in our community, including Habitat for Humanity, the American Cancer Society, the YMCA and the March of Dimes.
Major donations from 1st Source in 2010 include $100,000 to the Saint Mary’s College Capital Campaign, $30,000 to South Bend Area Crime Stoppers to be used for future rewards, $25,000 to the Community Hospital of Bremen to assist with the hospital’s digital mammography upgrade, $25,000 toward the renovation of the Lerner Theatre in downtown Elkhart and $10,000 to Boy Scouts of America, Sagamore Council.  Substantial underwriting was also given to Ivy Tech Warsaw, the Apprentice Academy, Innovation Park at Notre Dame, WNIT Public Television, Purdue North Central, St. Vincent de Paul, Goodwill Industries and Southwest Michigan College among others.
1st Source Bank and its employees donated more than $250,000 in 2010 to the 15 United Way offices in communities served by the bank. The donations will assist the United Way in fulfilling its mission of improving lives within our community.
