1st Source Bank Donates $30,000 to South Bend Area Crime Stoppers

1st Source Bank has donated $30,000 to South Bend Area Crime Stoppers to help the organization with its mission of reducing felony arrests in our community. The donation will be used as reward money for future tips that lead to an arrest or indictment. 
Lee Goehring and Doug Way from 1st Source presented the donation to Lt. Cindy Kilgore, Crime Stoppers Police Coordinator, and James Wensits, President of the Crime Stoppers Board of Directors. 
“1st Source recognizes the impact that Crime Stoppers has had on making our community a safer place to live and work,” said Lee Goehring, 1st Source Vice President. “We’re glad to offer this donation to help with future rewards.”  
Since its beginning in 1983, tips to South Bend Area Crime Stoppers have led to the arrest of over 7,000 felony offenders, and to the recovery of over $15.6 million in stolen property and narcotics. 
"We appreciate the generous donation provided by 1st Source Bank and believe it shows the confidence that it has placed in Crime Stoppers' ability to fulfill its mission in our community," said Wensits.  
The South Bend Area Crime Stoppers encompasses thirteen counties in the Michiana viewing area, including in Indiana:  St. Joseph, Elkhart, LaPorte, Marshall, Kosciusko, Starke, LaGrange, Pulaski, Porter; and in Michigan: Berrien, VanBuren, Cass and St. Joseph.
