1st Source Bank Donates $25,000 to Ivy Tech in Michigan City

1st Source Bank has donated $25,000 to Ivy Tech Northwest for the expansion and repurposing of the library media center on the Michigan City Campus.
Bob Ax, 1st Source Regional President, and Erik Back, 1st Source Manager of Commercial Banking, presented the donation to J. Guadalupe Valtierra, Chancellor of Ivy Tech’s Northwest Region, Rick Soria, Vice Chancellor of Ivy Tech’s Michigan City Campus and Cindy Hall, Ivy Tech’s Executive Director of Resource Development.
The new library media center will triple in size and will allow for an expanded resource center of books, periodicals, CDs, DVDs, and other media materials for student research. The library media center will also include a small conference room for student study and classroom study groups, and a dedicated general tutoring area with computers, printers, digital projector and remote screen.
“1st Source is a strong supporter of Ivy Tech and we’re glad to make this donation toward the Michigan City campus,” said Bob Ax, 1st Source Regional President. “The new library will have a big impact on students for years to come.”
