1st Source and Employees Donate More than $270,000 to United Way

$207,351!  That is the total being donated by 1st Source employees to the 2012 United Way campaign. The bank will donate an additional $66,882 to United Way organizations throughout its footprint, bringing the total contribution to more than $270,000, a 9% increase over last year.
 
“I’m very excited about the success of this year’s campaign and the impact we’ll be able to have on the community,” said Mary Chmiel, 1st Source Senior Vice President and a United Way Campaign Leader. “Thanks to the generosity of our employees, the United Way will be able to provide funding for valuable programs within our community.”

74% of 1st Source employees participated by making a contribution to the annual campaign. Employees were given the option of directing their donation to the United Way or an agency partner.
 
1st Source’s employees are active in the community, committing their time and money to organizations ranging from Habitat for Humanity to the American Cancer Society. In 2010, 1st Source employees volunteered over 25,000 hours to more than 375 community organizations. Additionally, the bank contributed more than $840,000 to community organizations and projects in 2010.
