Ernestine M. Raclin
Ernestine “Ernie” Raclin was raised in a family where “giving back” was expected. It wasn’t
thought of as a duty; rather, it was considered a joy to see the difference one person could
make in a community by trying.
Ernie believed the definition of volunteerism is working beyond your ordinary responsibilities. The benefits are many – you rejoice in the success of others and their accomplishments; your knowledge of the community and its resources grows; and your community, your city and your state become a better place to live. The social and economic vitality of a community is the direct result of people working beyond their ordinary responsibilities.
This is why 1st Source commits its financial and human resources to participating in leadership in the communities it serves.
Past chairman of 1st Source Bank and 1st Source Corporation for over 20 years, Mrs. Raclin is a dedicated giver of herself. Her many and varied community volunteer activities encompass economic development, arts and education, and human services. Project Future, Indiana University and the University of Notre Dame, and United Way are just a few beneficiaries of her leadership and service.
